Introduction to the city
This tour is an introduction to Brussels. The ride takes us through some very diverse neighbourhoods in and around the ‘Pentagon’ area. You will be given a historical introduction, including the city’s medieval development, the 16th-century port district and the industrialisation of the 19th century. We will pass ‘green lungs’ such as the Parc de Bruxelles and the Botanical Garden and admire the art nouveau façades overlooking the public gardens. Contemporary developments are also deserving of notice: the fast-changing office neighbourhoods in the Quartier Nord or the Leopold Quarter, the large-scale redevelopment at Tour & Taxis and Abattoir, the areas that are popular with new arrivals and the urban regeneration in the Canal area.

Fancy a whole day on the bus? That’s also possible. The Parc du Cinquantenaire, the garden districts Logis and Floréal and the UCL campus in Woluwe will also be part of the tour in that case.
